Middlesbrough may have to sell a few players if they want to bring in some new faces during the final few weeks of the January transfer window.

According to the Northern Echo, the cash-strapped Northerners could be willing to listen to offers for Grant Leadbitter, Ashley Fletcher, Rudy Gestede and record signing Britt Assombalonga, but finding buyers may be easier said than done.

The report claims that manager Tony Pulis wants to add to his squad, with Rajiv Van La Parra the only arrival so far, but Boro’s financial position is making additions unlikely.

However, the high wages earned by the likes of Assombalonga and Gestede and co could put off fellow Championship clubs, while sides in the Premier League are unlikely to express any interest, the Northern Echo adds.

Back in July, the same publication stated that Boro were hoping to recoup £15 million for Assombalonga. But the 26-year-old’s reputation has taken a hit after losing his place in the starting XI this season.

Fellow strikers Gestede and Fletcher have also struggled for game-time, while the 33-year-old Leadbitter has made just one Championship start all season with his last league appearance coming back in August.

Le Verviétois se sent très bien au Standard et espère remporter le titre prochainement. Après quelques aventures à l'étranger, l'international congolais n'a pas la bougeotte, mais se montrera tout de même ouvert aux offres.

Quelle type de destination pourrait donner des envies de départ à Paul-José Mpoku? "J’ai toujours dit que si c’est pour aller dans un club comme Mayence, puisqu’on vient de les affronter, moi, ça ne m’intéresse pas", a-t-il déclaré dans un entretien accordé à La DH.

"Ok, ils ont un plus gros budget que le Standard. Mais je préfère jouer le top ici, l’Europa League ou la Ligue des champions que jouer le maintien en Bundesliga. Si je dois partir, j’irai en Amérique, en Chine ou à Dubai."

Pour une belle offre qui mettrait sa famille à l'abri, donc. “Voilà. Ce que Junior a fait, par exemple, je pourrais le faire. Regardez Moussa Dembélé, il part en Chine. Il met bien sa famille, il se met bien lui-même. Ce n’est pas spécialement ce que je désire maintenant, mais si ça vient…”

Une offre des Etats-Unis a d'ailleurs atteri sur le bureau de ses dirigeants. Mais Bruno Venanzi a repoussé les quatre millions proposés par New England Revolution. "Je n’ai aucun problème avec ça”, a commenté Mpoku.

Dieumerci Mbokani a prouvé cette saison qu'il pouvait encore jouer au top belge, retrouvant rapidement un niveau proche de celui affiché à l'époque au Standard et à Anderlecht. Prolongera-t-il à l'Antwerp ? Le Congolais s'est exprimé.

Dieumerci Mbokani est l'un des transferts les plus spectaculaires réalisés par l'Antwerp l'été passé. L'ancien du Standard et d'Anderlecht a rapidement retrouvé un excellent niveau, permettant au Great Old de figurer dans le top 3 du championnat. Reste à voir si le Congolais prolongera : "Je veux discuter calmement avec l'Antwerp concernant mon nouveau contrat. Nous en avons vaguement parlé, mais je n'ai pas donné d'accord", explique-t-il dans Het Laatste Nieuws.

"Je reste ambitieux. La Chine pour l'argent? J'ai déjà refusé quelques offres, mais peut-être que j'irai un jour", reconnaît Mbokani. Anderlecht, de son côté, se cherche un grand attaquant. "J'habite à Bruxelles, et la porte sera toujours ouverte pour Anderlecht. Mais l'Antwerp vient e premier pour le moment ; nous voulons décrocher l'Europe. Rejouer l'Europe, avec l'Antwerp, serait un rêve".

Mouscron: Nicaise Kudimbana en test, Olivier Werner sur le départ

Devenu deuxième gardien derrière Jean Butez après les six premières journées de championnat, Olivier Werner pourrait quitter le Canonnier avant la fin du mercato hivernal.

Afin de se préparer à un éventuel départ de son deuxième gardien, l’Excel Mouscron a fait passer un essai à Nicaise Kudimbana ce vendredi matin.

Le gardien âgé de 32 ans était notamment passé par l’Union Saint-Gilloise, l’Antwerp, le Cercle Bruges, Ostende et Anderlecht.

Leeds United are reportedly after three Fulham players before Thursday's January transfer window deadline and one of those would be the perfect recruit in Leeds' hunt for promotion.

Midfielder Stefan Johansen and attacker Floyd Ayite are interesting Leeds - according to the Birmingham Mail - but it is Neeskens Kebano that would be the best of the lot if the Whites were to move for the DR Congo international.

Leeds seem keen to bring another option to the club in the final third before Thursday's deadline, as they look to maintain their push for promotion and return to the Premier League for the first time since 2004.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa is renowned for preferring smaller squads filled with players that can play in numerous positions. Gjanni Alioski, Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Roberts all played away from their main position on Saturday.

Kebano suits that down to a tee, as he can play out wide, in the 10 role or as a striker himself. That makes him an excellent option for Bielsa, who can use him as somewhat of an attacking utility player.

Kebano, who began his career at French champions Paris Saint-Germain and made nine appearances for the French club, also possesses blistering speed that allows him to get away from defenders - running onto loose balls or taking players on.

His traits allow him to cover a number of positions which is key when picking substitutes, while his explosive speed would be draining for already-tired defenders. The perfect super sub.

Christian, je sais que la tentation sera grande mais de grâce, reste jusqu'à la fin de la saison à Liège. La Turquie n'est pas la meilleure destination pour un joueur qui cherche à progresser.
Je pense que Luyindama est en train de réaliser sa meilleure saison en pro, qu'il patiente un peu.

Evitons de faire des insinuations douteuses et surtout, de sortir les choses de leurs contextes. C'est comme quand tu écris que Mbemba aurait du être titulaire lors de la CAN 2013. C'est un peu comme si demain, Kayembe s'impose avec Anderlecht et que tu dis qu'il aurait du jouer la campagne qualificative pour la CDM 2018. Si tu penses avoir la science infuse, fais comme Ibenge et les autres. Passe tes examens, quitte ton confort européen et va faire tes preuves en division inférieure européenne, puis en RDC. A ce moment, tu pourrais faire preuve d'arrogance. Comme les autres, je constate que depuis qu'il s'est imposé au Standard comme titulaire, peu importe les coachs, il est également titulaire en sélection. Et sincèrement, entre le top en Belgique et le top en Turquie, le choix est clair, financièrement et footballistiquement parlant. Les turques vont disputer les 16ème de finale de l'Europa League quand le Standard est sorti lors de la phase de groupe.
